Quiana Laughlin reached No. 6 in the state in the long jump and Ireja Lauderdale sixth in the 100 meters as the Pasadena City College women's track and field team continued to build on top marks at the Moorpark Invitational held April 3.

Laughlin leaped a season-best 18 feet, 5.25 inches as she placed fourth in the event. Lauderdale was sixth in the 100, but her best 12.03 seconds time has her in contention to qualify for the 3C2A state meet.

The Lancers won the 4x100 relay in 50.19 behind the racing of Kezia Gavlak, Destiny Rayburn, Jariah Martin and Lauderdale. However, the squad performed a state #8 at 48.49 a week ago at the El Camino Dave Shannon Invite.

Laughlin placed second in the high jump (5-1), but her 5-3 earlier this year has her tied for fourth in the state rankings.

Raiah Blackmon moved up to #13 in the discus and was third in the event at the MC meet with a throw of 121-6.

Gavlak scored second in the triple jump and while her 37-11.25 was solid, it's her 38-1.25 earlier in the year that has her sitting at #6 in the state.

The Lancers are expected to compete this Friday, April 10 at the Cerritos Invitational.
