High Finishes For Men's Track and Field At El Camino Dave Shannon Invite

Anthony Pequeno took first place in the 200 meters while a number of other Pasadena City College men's track and field team members had high placings at the annual El Camino Dave Shannon Invitational held March 27.

Pequeno raced 21.82 seconds to win the 200, then posted a season-best 48.70 in the 400 to place second, an event won by an unnattached runner. The sophomore currently is eighth in the state in the 200 (21.63) and 13th in the 400.

Quishawn Stanford placed second in the 400 hurdles and his 56.01 mark is now 13th in the state. 

Drake Anderson scored third behind two unnattached racers in the 800 at 2:00.29. 

The 4x100 relay of Milo Peoples, Stanford, Eugene Dela Cruz and Pequeno placed second at 43.25. 

James Yang took fourth in the long jump at 5-foot, 10.75 inches. 

Coach Innocent Egbunike's Lancers next compete at the Moorpark Invitational on Friday, April 3.
