John Q. Trapp was the MVP of the state tournament in leading the 1966-67 Lancers to the state championship under Coach Jerry Tarkanian. Trapp, a 6-foot-7 forward, averaged 19.8 points and 9.3 rebounds a game. He was MVP of two pre-conference tournaments, selected All-Western State Conference and helped PCC record an impressive 35-1 record. Trapp went on to play at the University of Nevada-Las Vegas and then was the No. 15 pick overall in the second round of the 1968 NBA Draft by the San Diego Rockets. Trapp played five seasons in the NBA for three teams, including serving as a reserve on the 1972 Los Angeles Lakers world champion team, a squad that won 33 games in a row. Trapp's younger brother George Trapp was also inducted into the PCC Sports Hall of Fame in 2013.
