Women's Track's Fields Top SoCal Finals Seed With Prelim Firsts In 400, 800

Pasadena City College women's sprinter Deniya Fields recorded the top times in both the 400 and 800 meters at the Southern California Regional Track and Field Prelims held Saturday at Saddleback College. 

Fields had the top mark in the 400 at 56.28, then her 2:14.87 fastest time in the 800 now tops all racers in the state. 

Also qualiifying for the SoCal Championships this Saturday, May 10 (also at Saddleback) from the Lancers is Jaylin Morgan in the 200 (finished fourth in prelims at 24.51) and the 4x400 relay of Ashley Sosa, Abigail Aguilar, Morgan and Fields raced 3:57.77 for the third best mark. 

Morgan just missed qualifying in the 100 as her 10th place 12.31 was one short of the qualifying top nine for the finals. Sosa raced 14th in the 800 at 2:24.83.
