Freshman forward Kamora Fletcher stepped up in a big way with her performance in helping the Pasadena City College women's basketball team to win two of three games at the Santa Ana round-robin tourney held Dec. 4-6.

The 5-foot-9 Fletcher was named All-SAC Tournament after totaling 71 points, 31 rebounds, and 14 steals over the three games.

Now sporting a 6-4 record under interim head coach Alexa Mirzaian, the Lancers opened the tourney with a tough, 60-54 loss to Bakersfield on Dec. 4. PCC led 22-19 by halftime and went up 35-28 on a 3-pointer by Monica Menzies with four minutes left in the third quarter.

The Lancers led 53-49 on a Menzies jumper then a triple by the sophomore guard. Bakersfield took the lead for good, 54-53, on a 3-pointer by Jamie Neaderbaomer with four minutes left in the fourth period.

Fletcher scored 21 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Menzies recorded 15 points, including sinking four treys. Kennedy Jackson added nine points off the bench.

On Friday, Fletcher again netted 21 points and forced a team season-high eight steals in a 71-34 Lancers rout over Riverside City. Two double-doubles were turned in by Celine Bolton-Ford (17 points, 13 rebounds) and Lyndsey Valverde (14 points, 13 boards). Jackson contributed 14 points and Menzies reached double figures in assists with 10 to go with four points and four steals.

PCC outscored RCC, 42-11, by halftime.

In the Saturday finale, Fletcher was a post nightmare for the opponent in making 14 of 27 shots, grabbing 13 boards (eight offensive) and finishing with 29 points in a 73-61 victory over Los Angeles Harbor. PCC raced to a 27-10 first-quarter lead but that shrunk to six at 58-52 before Kennedy hit a three and another jumper during an 11-0 run that put the game away.

Menzies had another solid effort by scoring 16 points, dishing out eight assists, and making five steals. Jackson has become a factor for the Lancers in reserve in tallying 13 points.

The Lancers will host a PCC Crossover, 4-team tourney on Friday-Saturday, Dec. 12-13 at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium. PCC will face Moorpark at 12 noon on Friday and play San Diego City on Saturday also a noon tip-off. Antelope Valley faces SDCC on Dec. 12 at 2 p.m. and the Marauders then play Moorpark on Dec. 13 at 2 p.m.
