Softball's Jaimie Harris Named All-SCC 2nd Team

Jaimie Harris, a freshman slugger from Glendale High, was the lone selection from Pasadena City College on the 2022 All-South Coast Conference Softball Team selected Thursday at the coaches' postseason meeting at Rio Hondo College.

Softball At Its Best As Season Closing

Better late than never for the Pasadena City College softball team. The Lancers ran a 2022 season-best winning streak to four games on Thursday in edging Rio Hondo, 2-1, in eight innings and won their second straight South Coast Conference game of the year.

Another 3-Win Streak For Lancers Softball

For the second time in the last 11 games, the Pasadena City College softball team won three straight games, earning an 8-3, South Coast Conference victory at Los Angeles Harbor on Tuesday. The Lancers are 7-4 since March 30.

Mercy, Mercy: Doubleheader Sweep for Softball Over Glendale

For the third time this season, the Pasadena City College softball team won a non-conference doubleheader on Friday. The Lancers swept Glendale College, 14-2, in six innings, then 10-1 in five innings in back-to-back mercy victories played at the Glendale Sports Complex.

Softball Improving, Now Over .500 In Non-Conference Games

A 2-13 start to the 2022 season was a tough hole for the Pasadena City College softball team. But since that rough beginning, the Lancers have played far better. On Friday, PCC won its fourth game in the last six contests and improved to 9-8 in non-conference games with a 10-0, 5-inning mercy win over visiting Oxnard.

Softball Kraft's A 3-Game Win Streak

In a tough season for the Pasadena City College softball team, the Lancers have improved tremendously in recent weeks, including a current 3-game win streak. On Saturday, PCC enjoyed its best day of the year with late-inning heroics to beat Santa Barbara City College, 2-1, and host Ventura, 6-5, in a 3-way, round-robin tourney.

Softball Ends Conference Losing Streak

Until Tuesday, the last time the Pasadena City College softball team won a South Coast Conference game was pre-pandemic on March 3, 2020 against Long Beach. The 2022 Lancers finally reached the SCC win board after 10 consecutive losses in defeating Los Angeles Harbor, 5-1, at Robinson Park.

The Pasadena City College softball team continues to see improvement at the plate and in the pitching circle from Kiley Kraft as the Lancers won for the third time in four games, defeating host Citrus, 9-2, in a non-conference game on Wednesday.

Doubleheader Sweep At Southwestern Lifts Softball Spirits

The Pasadena City College softball team excelled in all key three areas--hitting, defense and pitching--and it resulted in a non-conference, doubleheader sweep at Southwestern, 8-6 in game 1 and 5-2 in game 2, on Saturday.

Softball Improving, Pick Up Win v. Chaffey

The Pasadena City College softball team collected its second win, 7-4, v. host Chaffey on Wednesday, and once again had a chance to tie a South Coast Conference game at the finish before losing a tight one v. East Los Angeles, 2-1, played Thursday at Robinson Park.

Softball Loses Hail of a Game v. Long Beach

If you wanted dramatic effect, nothing beat the final at-bat of Tuesday's South Coast Conference softball game between visiting Long Beach City College and host Pasadena City College. Not only were the bases loaded, two outs and PCC trailing by just two runs, the temperature at Robinson Park dropped 20 degrees, the wind brought down the outfield auxiliary fence, then hail, rain and lightning added to the drama.

Palomar Tops Softball In First Home Games Since 2020

Pasadena City College head softball coach Monica Tantlinger knew what her team was facing with a brand new roster, but it wasn't going to prevent her from scheduling tougher teams in the early 2022 season. Perennial SoCal power, Palomar College, winners of five state titles (two as recent as 2013 and 2015) debuted its 2022 squad at the Lancers home-opening doubleheader at Robinson Park on Saturday. The Comets showed their pedigree in sweeping the twinbill.

PCC Softball Preview: Brave New World For Lancers In 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic proved to create one giant obstacle for the Pasadena City College softball program. One-and-a-half seasons cancelled caused a ripple effect as PCC head coach Monica Tantlinger found herself essentially starting from scratch for the 2022 season.

PCC Softball's Samantha Diaz Earns Scholarship To Marymount

Samantha Diaz, the Pasadena City College softball team's third baseman in 2019 and 2020, has accepted a playing scholarship to attend NAIA Marymount California University in Palos Verdes. Diaz was an All-South Coast Conference First Team selection as a freshman and had her second Lancers season cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
