Maxime Slek placed 41st overall out of 108 runners as the fastest racer for the Pasadena CIty College men's cross country team at Friday's South Coast Conference Championships. The Lancers placed seventh as a team.
Slek crossed the 4-mile race finish line at Mt. San Antonio's course in 22 minutes, 55.9 seconds. It was the third time this season that the sophomore Slek recorded his team's best time.
John Sanchez-Lopez took 50th (23:20.6), Benicio Haro 63rd (23:56), Danny Camacho 64th (23:57), and Jake Rogel 71st (24:16) as the other scoring Lancers.
Also taking part in the race from PCC were Edgar Valenzuela (72nd, 24:16.5), Dylan La Marsna (78th, 24:35), Edgar Flores (84th, 25:01), Aidan Montes (102nd, 29:01) and Claudio Reynoso (103rd, 29:33).
Mt. San Antonio won its 12th consecutive SCC championship and had the individual champion in Jonah Botello in 21:13.5.
The Lancers qualified as an at-large team for the Southern California Championships this Friday, Nov. 7 at NTC Park in San Diego.
