Local Roster of Talent For PCC Men's Cross Country In 2025

The 2025 Pasadena City College men's cross country team features a roster all local area student-athletes as the squad opened the season on Friday at the 33rd Vanguard University Invitational.

The Lancers placed fourth in a limited competition, racing against Vanguard, UC Irvine and Fullerton College, as 37 total runners participated.

Leading the PCC harrier crew was freshman Drake Anderson, from Pasadena High, in 23rd place overall with a time of 27 minutes, 22.9 seconds over the 8-kilomater course at Irvine's Mason Regional Park. 

Returning sophomore lettermen Teddie Wen (26th, 27:57) and Maxime Slek (27th, 28:08.7) followed Anderson.

Others racing for PCC were freshman Benicio Haro (29th, 28:58, Temple City High), sophomore Dylan La Marsna (32nd, 29:47), then all freshmen in their collegiate debuts--John Sanchez-Lopez (33rd, 29:49.9, Mountain View HS), Jake Rogel (35th, 31:24, Pasadena HS), and Edgar Flores (36th, 33:14, Burbank HS).

Other racers who didn't run and are expected to compete soon are returning sophomore Lucas Plascencia and freshmen Danny Camacho, (Burroughs High) and two Muir High grads in Aidan Montes and Edgar Valenzuela.

Coach Innocent Egbunike, in his ninth season at PCC, next guides his harriers into the Golden West Central Park Classic on Friday, Sept. 19 in Huntington Beach.
