Anthony Pequeno earned two medals and Quishawn Stanford one as the Pasadena City College men's track and field team scored for the first time since pre-pandemic at the 3C2A State Championships held Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College.
PCC officially scored six points for a tie for 28th place in the team standings, significant as you have to go back to 2018 for the last time the Lancers scored at the state meet (seven points, tie for 27th).
Pequeno placed sixth in the 200 with a personal best 21.17 seconds in a field where several sprinters also raced their best times of the 2026 season. The sophomore added a seventh place in the 400 at 48.85. Last year, Pequeno missed out on a medal in ninth in the 200.
Stanford held on for an eighth place in the 400 hurdles after a ninth in the 110 hurdles earlier in the day. The freshman Stanford, the winner at the SoCal Prelims in the 400, raced in 54.49. His 53.73 scored at the Regional Championships last week was his best time.
Pequeno, who is now 10th among PCC's all-time fastest racers in the 200, and Stanford earned their place in men's track and field state history.
