The Pasadena City College women's water polo team fired shot after shot at visiting Cerritos, but Falcons goalie Fenix Nolasco made school-record 22 saves as the Lancers lost, 24-6, on Wednesday at Polytechnic School.

In the South Coast Conference match, the Lancers (0-3 overall and conference) had a number of strong scoring and played a solid first quarter, trailing just 7-4. But Nolasco would shut down PCC's offense with quality stops over the final three quarters. 

Luna Encinas, who made a game-high six steals, scored all three of her goals in the opening quarter, Marissa Granados scored twice on the power play, and Daisy Reynoso picked up a goal and one assist. Both Jingxuan Chen and Shufang Zhang tallied a helper. 

Cerritos (3-6, 0-3) was led by Kayley Soleymani with seven goals and six by Fiona Glynn. 

Next Wednesday, Oct.9, PCC plays at East Los Angeles College.
