Always remembered for its historical achievement for the most victories ever recorded in order to win the South Coast Conference championship--a perfect 18-0, the 2021 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team produced a talented crop of student-athletes now headed to 4-year universities.

Seeded No. 2 for the postseason, the state #5-ranked Pasadena City College women's volleyball team hosts No. 15 seed College of the Canyons in a Southern California Regional Round 1 match on Tuesday. The playoff contest will have a 7 p.m. first serve at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Nalani Young Is 1st PCC Women's Volleyball All-American; 7 Lancers Earn All-SCC

Sophomore outside hitter Nalani Young became the first AVCA All-American selection in the history of Pasadena City College women's volleyball with her selection to the national Third Team as well as being named All-State. She was also one of seven Lancers named to the 2021 All-South Coast Conference Team.

How Sweet It Is: Women's Volleyball Completes 18-0 Run To SCC Championship

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team thought it had done more than enough to win a title. The state #3-ranked Lancers won 16 straight conference matches, beating every team in the 9-team South Coast Conference twice. But this year's rules of the game meant they had to also win two more matches on the final day of the SCC Tournament on Saturday.

State #3 Women's Volleyball Serves Up Sweep Over El Camino

Every match, the state #3-ranked Pasadena City College women's volleyball team seems to have a different theme, a different strength, or a different standout. On Wednesday night, the Lancers rediscovered the power of its serve attack. It wore down visiting El Camino College as the match progressed and PCC walked away with a 25-23, 25-14, 25-17 sweep for its 13th straight victory. The contest was played before a large student-populated crowd at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

State #3 Women's Volleyball Weathers LBCC Opening Set To Win 12th In Row

With the target on its back as the SoCal Region's top-ranked squad, the state #3 Pasadena City College women's volleyball team continues to get the best efforts that fellow South Coast Conference foes have to offer. On Friday night, host Long Beach City College played about as well in a hard-fought first set, but the Lancers finally held serve to go on to sweep the Vikings, 28-26, 25-23, 25-16.

While a small audience of Facebook Live viewers have enjoyed the spirited play of the state #3-ranked Pasadena City College women's volleybal this season, home fans finally got to see in-person on Wednesday what the streaming followers have seen all year--a winning team with vast depth and a swagger of confidence to go with it.

Attack Finally Emerges For State #3 Women's Volleyball, Win Streak At 9

There have been small spurts, a scoring run in some sets, but the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team had yet to really show an efficient attack offense despite a successful start to the 2021 season. On Wednesday night, it all came together for the state #3-ranked Lancers as they hammered #24-ranked Cerritos College in a 25-12, 25-17, 25-9 sweep at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium.

Seven Straight Wins For State #3 Women's Volleyball

Now, it's about winning the right way as opposed to just winning for the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team. The state #3-ranked Lancers found their hitting stroke in the final two sets and continued their mastery of serve and pass in sweeping Los Angeles Harbor College, 25-18, 25-15, 25-21, at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium Wednesday night. It was the SoCal Region's No. 1 squad's seventh straight victory.

Newly Ranked #1 In South, State #3 Women's Volleyball Hammers #16 LBCC

It's only a few weeks into the 2021 season, but there is something magical happening for the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team. On Monday, PCC moved up to #1 among South Region teams and elevated to #3 in the CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings. On Wednesday night, the Lancers looked the part in dismantling #16 Long Beach in straight sets, 25-16, 25-12, 25-17.

Call it hype of a matchup between top-ranked teams. Call it sheer excitement from facing a long-time school rival. Call it what you want, but the state's #6-ranked Pasadena City College women's volleyball team appeared like battle-tested heroes in rallying from a 2-1 sets deficit to beat host Mt. San Antonio College, 25-16, 18-25, 20-25, 25-13, 15-12, in a South Coast Conference match Friday night.

Lancers Move Up Women's Volleyball Rankings To State #6, Sweep Chaffey

Things are clicking for the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team. The Lancers moved up three places to No. 6 on the CCCWVCA State Top 25 Rankings and they celebrated by routing host Chaffey, 25-15, 25-8, 25-16, in a non-conference match Wednesday night.

Hutto-Patterson Gym Empty Of Fans, But Not Wins For #9 Women's Volleyball

The year 2021 has marked the return of athletics contests at Pasadena City College after a missed season. The landscape has changed due to the lingering effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, including a new routine of testing student-athletes on game days to try to limit a fall surge, and other measures taken by each individual college in an effort to maintain health and safety for all. For PCC at least for the near future, it means no fans at both indoor and outdoor events.

State #9-Ranked Volleyball Turns Tables on Citrus

For nearly two sets, it was hard to tell which team was rated #9 in the opening CCCWVCA State Women's Volleyball Top 25 Rankings and who was unranked. The #9 team, of course, was Pasadena City College, and after a lethargic stretch that resulted in a 27-25 first-set defeat to visiting Citrus and a 17-12 second-set deficit, the Lancers turned to one of their leaders to change the momentum.

Women's Volleyball Holds Serve Over Ventura, Wins in 4

The Pasadena City College women's volleyball team used a mighty serving presence that resulted in 15 aces and withstood a late push by its opponent in defeating Ventura, 25-15, 25-23, 18-25, 25-22, in a key Southern California matchup at Hutto-Patterson Gymnasium Wednesday evening.

Roaring Start For PCC Volleyball With 2 Wins At Host Quad

It didn't take long for the Pasadena City College women's volleyball team to show its excitement about returning to the floor after the program had an entire 2020 season taken away by the worldwide health crisis. On Friday at the 2021-season opening PCC Quad tourney, the Lancers were checking off boxes in a number of areas and it resulted in consecutive victories over quaity programs in MiraCosta and Cypress.

PCC Volleyball Returns With Talented Bunch For 2021

If the COVID-19 pandemic has done anything for community college coaches, it's savor the return to the daily routine of holding in-person practices to guide their programs into a new season. Pasadena City College women's volleyball head coach Mike Terrill is not only excited as the Lancers return to play for the 2021 season after an entire 2020 season was wiped out by the worldwide health crisis, but pleased with the instant camaraderie demonstrated among of his players.
