The state #17-ranked Pasadena City College women's soccer team has feasted on the competition during a now 5-game win streak, including a 4-0 first half of the South Coast Conference schedule.

The Lancers (11-4 overall) scored a season high in goals in routing Los Angeles City, 6-1, on Tuesday at Robinson Stadium. Esmeralda Jaquez tallied two goals and Alexandra Lopez picked up her team-leading 10th goal.

Jaquez finished an unassisted goal to open the scoring in the eighth minute, then Kristina Snowden headed in a corner kick from Nadia Aguilar in the 25th minute for what proved to be the game-winner. Just before halftime, Jaquez netted a shot on a pass from Raylyn Laney for a 3-1 lead.

Three minutes into the second half, Lopez drilled a free kick for team's fourth goal. In the 56th minute, Rachel Mentaze slipped a ball between two defenders to a waiting Maxine Scott who easily knocked it in. Then PCC capped the scoring in the 64h minute as Laney flicked a pass to Isabella Lopez who fired it in from just outside the box.

On Friday at LA Harbor, the Lancers recorded a 4-0 blanking of the Seahawks thanks in part to two quick early goals by Alexandra Lopez, who volleyed in a shot on a cross by Mentaze just 76 seconds into the contest. Only two minutes later, Lopez struck again as she completed a lead pass from Scott for the 2-0 advantage.

Isabella Lopez, Alexandra's sister, scored in the 64th minute as Laney dribbled it up the field, crossed it to Daniela Olvera who laid it off to Lopez for the finish. The final tally came off the foot of Isabella Nersesyan who roofed a pass from Presley Gomez

Alexandra Lopez is fourth in the SCC in scoring with 24 points. PCC has outscored opponents, 20-3, during the past five triumphs.

Eighth in power points ratings in the SoCal Region at 2.11, the Lancers look forward to a another matchup v. rival Mt. San Antonio, also 4-0 to tie them for first place in the SCC North Division, on Friday, Oct. 24 in a 6 p.m. kickoff.

In just her fifth season, PCC head coach Terryn Soelberg has compiled an outstanding 61-34-10 career record and is an even better 30-6-2 mark since the start of the 2024 season.
