Without Home Field, Softball To Pause For 2026 Season

Important message regarding the 2026 season:

Pasadena City College has made the difficult decision to pause its intercollegiate softball program for the upcoming 2025-26 academic year.

This temporary pause allows the college time to address critical facility needs and ensure we continue to provide a safe, competitive, and enriching environment for our student-athletes.

In the recently completed 2025 season, the Lancers were forced to play all of their games on the road due to unsafe conditions at their former off-campus local facility--Robinson Park in the City of Pasadena. Practices also had to be conducted at another college that impacted unfairly on the academic and athletic plans for the student-athletes and coaching staff.

PCC is deeply committed to supporting programs that reflect the needs of our students and the communities we serve. Softball has long been a source of pride and opportunity for our campus and local supporters, and we recognize the importance of maintaining a strong presence in Lancers women's athletics.

College leadership is actively exploring both short and long-term solutions to address facility challenges that have impacted the program. This includes ongoing dialogue with stakeholders and community partners, with a clear goal: to reestablish a home field for PCC Softball that meets the standards of our student-athletes deserve.

PCC understands the disappointment this decision brings and is committed to keeping the campus community informed as we make progress toward restoring the program. Our focus remains on building a sustainable future for softball at PCC—one that upholds our tradition of excellence and service.
