Breanna Negrete, a starting shortstop for two seasons, was selected to the 2025 All-South Coast Conference Softball Second Team as Pasadena City College's lone choice to the elite squad.
The Lancers finished a trying season (5-30 overall, eighth place in the SCC at 5-19) in which they were forced to play on the road the entire season due to unsafe playing conditions at the Lancers off-campus facility--Robinson Park in the City of Pasadena.
Negrete was a brightspot as she led the team in nine different offensive categories, including a .353 batting average, eight doubles, two home runs and 22 RBI.
PCC received three All-SCC honorable mentions in second-year second baseman Alexis Garcia (.262, nine RBI), sophomore outfielder Lucero Alcaraz (16 stolen bases, 18 runs scored), and freshman pitcher Mariah Vazquez (118.2 innings, 10 complete games).
"Asking our players to practice at a different location (Citrus College) and having to be the road team for every game took its toll on everyone," said second-year PCC head coach Audriana Gutierrez.
"Our South Coast opponents and coaches were so understanding of our plight and were encouraging in helping us get through the season. The players and the assistant coaches I commend them for battling through the adversity as we played hard in every game. My only hope is that we can find a set home field in Pasadena for next season."
