Men's Swim Splits SCC Double Dual at Long Beach

The Pasadena City College men's swim team got on the South Coast Conference win board, defeating Rio Hondo, 159-63, while losing to host Long Beach City, 164-94, in a double dual meet on Friday.

The Lancers (1-3 record) were paced by Tristan Chou, who won both the 200-yard freestyle (season-best 1:55.26) and 200 backstroke (2:15.86). PCC also won the 200 medley relay behind Chou (backstroke), De'Andre Paiz (breaststroke), Jordan Choi (butterfly) and Michael Khoury (freestyle) in a 2026 best 1:41.17.

Paiz placed second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.9, losing by just .7 of a second, and took second in the 200 breaststroke (2:21.8).

Other Pasadena season-best swims were turned in by Choi in the 100 butterfly (55 seconds flat), Khoury in the 50 free (22.8), and Haofeng Tang, who had his fastest performances in three freestyle events. 

The PCC women's team (0-4 overall) lost both of its duals, against Rio Hondo (120-31) and LBCC (212-16). Elyse Guevara swam her season bests in the 100 individual medley (1:23.54) and 100 butterfly (1:22.22), Ricki Pedroza did the same for herself in the 50 free (38.58) and 100 free (1:48.08), and Jessica Zhu swam personal bests in the 50 and 100 free and 100 breaststroke.

The Lancers close out dual meet action on Friday, Mar. 27 when they face Cerritos and host Chaffey. Events begin at 10 a.m.
