The Pasadena City College men's soccer team improved to 2-0, rallying from a goal down to defeat host Victor Valley, 3-1, on Tuesday.

The Lancers tied it at 1-1 in the 21st minute as Solemon Alveno-Donofrio sent a thru ball to a Junior Martinez Cortes, who penetrated through the box, placing a shot to the left side of the net.

PCC dominated in the second half, outshooting VVC, 14-4, and then scoring a pair of goals in a seven-minute span. In the 66th minute, Cristian Villegas sent a back pass from the top of the box to Julian Zuniga, who fired a 25-yard shot for the game-winning score.

At the 76-minute mark, PCC added an insurance goal as Josiah Lucio knocked in a rebound off an 18-yard shot by Jouseph Contreras.

"We gave up an early goal, but the guys stayed composed and played well," said PCC head coach Francisco Cantero. "We made improvements from our opening match with some great possession and controlling the game while creating more scoring opportunities."

The Lancers play their home opener on Friday, Aug. 29 in a 4 p.m. game v. Palomar at Robinson Stadium.
