It took a state champion to take down the Pasadena City College men's soccer team Saturday. The seventh-seeded Lancers saw their finest season in eight years end in the third round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs by 2015 CCCAA champion and No. 3 seed Oxnard, 4-1.
For the first time in three years, the Pasadena City College men's soccer team has advanced to the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Lancers earned the No. 7 seed and will host a first round game against No. 10 seed Chaffey on Saturday, Nov. 19. The game will be played at Azusa Pacific University at 1 p.m.
The Pasadena City College men's soccer team ran its Robinson Stadium home record to 3-0 after blanking Los Angeles Harbor, 2-0, Friday in a South Coast Conference crossover game. The Lancers are 6-3-3 overall.
In the South Coast Conference, every men's soccer game is a battle, and Friday it was no diffferent in the North Division contest between host Pasadena City College and East Los Angeles. PCC overcame a 1-0 deficit and Jayden Norman knocked in the game-winning goal with just 82 seconds left as the Lancers downed the Huskies, 2-1.
The Pasadena City College men's soccer team stayed undefeated at 3-0-2 this year under first-year head coach Henry Cabral after posting a 2-0 win at local rival Glendale Friday night. PCC is undefeated despite playing all five its games thus far on the road. The Lancers are also 4-0-4 overall going back to the last three games of 2015.

After the program won just seven matches in the past two seasons and a change in head coaches, the Pasadena City College men's soccer team has rebuilt its roster and have a new attitude under first-year head coach Henry Cabral. The Lancers open the 2016 season Friday, Aug. 26 in a 4 p.m. match at Norco College.
