Two-year starting guard Darrius Freeman passed the 600-point mark in his Pasadena City College men's basketball career on Friday's 90-79 loss at state #9 Mt. San Antonio.

Ironically, Freeman scored a career-high 24 points v. the Mounties as he played all 40 minutes, making three 3-pointers and converting 9-for-10 at the free throw line. He added three assists. In 56 career games thus far, he averages a steady 10.9 points while becoming PCC's highest scorer as a sophomore with a 13.8 average.

Freeman is the 56th player to reach as many as 600 points in PCC history. Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and former Lakers great Michael Cooper is #7 on the PCC All-Time Scoring List at 1,070 points.

Most likely, the Lancers will have their streak of three straight seasons of making the postseason end in '25-26 as they are 11-15 overall and 2-6 in South Coast Conference North Division play. This week, the squad will close out the regular season with Sophomore Night on Wednesday, Feb. 18 in the team's home finale against #25 East Los Angeles, then play at Rio Hondo on Friday, Feb. 20. Both are 5 p.m. tip-offs.

Against Mt. SAC, Gor-el Zollicoffer drilled a trey for a 39-32 lead, but the Mounties went on a 10-0 run to take a 42-39 advantage into halftime. PCC got as close as 55-51 but never could catch Mt. SAC the rest of the way. Donovan Ford scored 13 points and Brandin Jackson 10, both off the Lancers' bench, while Julian Thompkins tallied 11 in a starting role. Zollicoffer chipped in nine points.

On Feb. 12 at LA Trade-Tech, the Lancers got into a run-and-gun affair, falling 99-92 to the Beavers. Trade-Tech led 55-40 by halftime and couldn't threaten in the second half. Ford led Pasadena on 19 points and 11 rebounds while Jackson also reached 19 in the scoring column. Freeman contributed 17 points and five assists, Cooper Creamer 12 points (8-for-9 at the line), seven rebounds and three blocks, and Zollicofer had 13 points.
